« The fundamental question of understanding where life comes from and where it is going animates me and is declined in two aspects of my life: On the one hand, in science, the studies I conduct in genetics for the CNRS allow me to ask this question on an experimental level; On the other hand, I progress thanks to the tools of yoga on a personal level in this space of encounter with what has been, what is, what will be and what is, beyond the three times.
Yoga is above all a path of self-knowledge, not from a narcissistic angle but towards an opening, to oneself and to others. This art came into my life more than twenty years ago: in ashtanga yoga, then hatha yoga, and more recently yoga nidra and yoga toumo. If each yogic approach brings a different touch, they all come together to bring the practitioner well-being and distance from his physical or emotional limitations. »
Workshop
The workshops will take place early in the morning.
We will go outside as lightly dressed as possible (shorts or a swimsuit for men; a two-piece swimsuit, or shorts and a sports bra for women). In Zinal, we will expose ourselves to the freshness of the pure air and to the wind descending from the glaciers and flowing down the mountain toward us.
We will practice in a seated position, using pranayama techniques to support the morning meditation. Depending on conditions, we may also immerse ourselves in the crystal-clear waters of the mountain stream, the Navizence.
We will provide the necessary recommendations throughout the week.
Recommended Equipment
• Appropriate clothing (swimsuit or equivalent)
• A yoga block or meditation cushion
• An insulating layer (approximately 1 m² of plastic sheet or other insulating material)
Tummo Yoga – Awakening the Inner Fire
Tummo Yoga is the awakening of the inner strength — the inner fire that allows us to adapt to harsh external conditions, and by extension, to the changing circumstances of life.
Through this practice, we will explore how to face challenges with awareness and calm, observing the emotions that naturally arise. In this case, the challenge will be meditation in the cold and gentle exposure of the skin to cold — an experience that helps us understand, rather than resist, our emotional and physiological responses.
Reconnecting human beings to their inner resources is also a way of protecting the environment.
When we cultivate resilience and inner balance, we reduce our dependency on external comfort and energy, aligning ourselves with more sustainable living.
Nature is a silent mirror of our emotions. The song of birds awakens a simple and luminous joy within us. In the face of the vastness of seas and oceans, or the grandeur of mountains, we experience a deep serenity. Nature teaches us to listen, to feel, and to live each moment fully. It invites us to feel united with this greater Whole, to become one with it.
