About the Associacion Espanola de Practicantes de Yoga

AEPY was founded in 1976, which main aim was to spread Yoga and follow its teachings among teachers in Spain. Besides this they focused in following the EUY teaching program.
In order to meet these objectives the board members and teacher trainers have organised: seminars, AEPY’s magazine, congresses, set up governing and teaching bodies in order to spread Yoga teachings, …. The most important of these bodies is the Pedagogic Committee, composed of teacher trainers with many years of experience.

Nowadays, AEPY’s main aims are the same:
1- adjust the yoga teachings to its true essence, to guarantee a qualified training; in order to teach teachers that Yoga isn’t only a ‘sport’ but a philosophy which means a lifetime of learning.
2-The board is working on the recognition of this Yoga training by the government. Hence it is considered for what it is, and so protected from professional intrusion and decontextualization.

We believe in preserving the excellence and the truth of Yoga tradition.
