The Grounded Base: Anchoring the Body, Stilling the Mind – Flavio Barsacchi
Practical lesson with a brief theoretical introduction.
In a world defined by constant movement and external stimulation, true stability is not found in rigidity, but in a deeply rooted physical and mental foundation. This session explores how somatic alignment at the base of the body can become a direct gateway to mental quietude and inner steadiness (Ekagrātā).
Through a refined somatic approach, we will bring conscious awareness to the lowest structures of the torso—the pelvis, the pelvic floor, and the coccygeal area. By releasing deep-seated muscular tension and reorganizing our relationship with gravity, we transform the base of the body from a static support into an active, intelligent anchor.
Flavio Barsacchi was born in Livorno in 1980. His interest in yoga and psychology began over twenty years ago when he embarked on a journey of profound personal and professional research. Trained within the Sadhana school under the guidance of Maestro Carlos Fiel — with whom he maintains an ongoing relationship of study and supervision — he received the European Sadhana Diploma at the end of an intense six-year programme. Over the years, he has continued to expand his research, integrating the tradition of yoga with the main methodologies of somatic education, postural re-education, movement arts, and meditative practices. His approach is strongly multidisciplinary and transversal: it combines the precision of neurophysiological insight with the sensitivity of bodily perception, proposing yoga as a laboratory of listening, self-regulation, and presence.
