Yoga: Methods for Stabilizing the Mirroring Consciousness on Energetic Objects – Dr. Martin Dojčár
In its original tantric context, yoga is understood as prāna vidya, “the science (or wisdom) of prāna,” in contrast to the popular trend of reducing it to its postural element. However, an understanding of prāna is not self-serving as often occurs in magical interpretations of yoga leading to siddhis. The spiritual purpose of yoga will be elucidated on the basis of the fundamental relation between the mirroring consciousness and prānic objects, both theoretically and practically, in a demonstration of yoga practice based on tantra.
Dr. Martin Dojčár, PhD., serves as Professor of Religious Studies at Trnava University and an Editor-in-Chief of the Spirituality Studies journal. His research interests include yoga, comparative mysticism, and interfaith dialogue. He is a longtime yoga practitioner in the tradition of raja yoga.
