Dominique Adda – IFY

Workshop in French
The session begins with a few words about shraddha, trust. Shraddha allows us to move from darkness to light. According to Yoga, we have a zone that allows this transformation; the zone of fire, of the sun. There, the flame of our fire is clarified, a fire representative of our attitude in the world. It allows our sun to shine!
In this same area, a little below the navel, is manipûra cakra – “the jewel in the city”. When this place “turns round (cakra=wheel)”, we are confident, self-reliant, full of vigour and know how to make our desires come true.
Through classical postures, the practice proposes to free “this jewel”, to activate it and perhaps to feel its effects. An ambitious programme which plays more particularly on the front/back relationships (the front of our bust/our back). Indeed, whether we like it or not, the past, the shadow, that we do not want to see, carries us, is inside us and can bring us to the light…

Born in 1950, Dominique Adda lives in France in the Côtes d’Armor.
A member of the college of trainers of the French Institute of Yoga in the tradition of Krishnamacharya and TKV Desikachar, she began practising yoga in 1967 and has been teaching it since 1985.
A pharmacist by training, she left this profession to devote herself to the education of her three children and to deepen her yoga practice. After graduating from Bernard Bouanchaud’s CEPRY, where she was an assistant, she continued her research with Peter Hersnack. She went on several study trips directed by T.K.V. Desikachar and followed a training course in the teaching of Vedic chanting at the Vedavani in Chennai.

Her wish: through her experience and knowledge of yoga, to offer those who wish to learn this “art of living” that is yoga and be fully in life.
