Philippe Djoharikian

Teacher

I am a yogi who set off for the Himalayas around the age of twenty to meet wonderful Masters: Chandra Swamijî for three and a half years of Likita Japa, Anand Giri Baba for the Kryas. I experienced three Kumbh Melas with Indian Sadhus and Sadvis, sharing teachings and practices with many yoga colleagues in Europe.

At the moment I run a yoga school (Babaschool) offering training over four years and almost 800 hours. I have led dozens of trainings in the Himalayas, taken groups to India and studied for a Doctorate in Socio-Anthropology on states of consciousness at the University of Montpellier. I’m an inveterate researcher and enjoy my yogi life in the Mediterranean forest near Montpellier, passionately connected to the beauty of the living world.

Description

I am going to invite participants to immerse themselves in the waters of the river that flows through Zinal, after we have practised kryas and pranayamas. There will also be exercises in awareness, and, if we have time, some meditation. Bathing is optional, but Tummo can only occur when participants have immersed themselves in cold water. The goal is to cleanse old Karmas, along with other Vasanas and Samskaras, through the intensity of the inner fire. As with all practices of Tapas, the good effects of this spiritual practice are a true tool of transformation and they are an integral part of Yoga.

Of course, all of this will take place in a joyful atmosphere and given that I have been transmitting yoga for almost 40 years, I am able to adapt the practice to each individual. I have always taught joyfully, surrounded by nature, and you will at the very least be able to enjoy those two things, the rest being a wonderful surprise.

In order to gain a global understanding of my approach, there will be a lecture about Tapas.

Disclaimer

The Tummo Yoga practice is an optional activity offered as part of the Congress programme in Zinal.
Participants are kindly reminded that exposure to cold air and water may present physical challenges and potential health risks, particularly for individuals with heart, respiratory, or circulatory conditions, or other medical problems.
We encourage all participants, regardless of age or level of experience, to exercise personal judgement and consult a healthcare professional if needed prior to participation. By choosing to engage in this practice, participants accept full responsibility for their own health, safety, and well-being. They should listen to their body´s signals and not overstretch its capabilities, in order to stay fit, safe, and healthy throughout their experience.
For further guidance on Tummo practice, please read the article on the EUY website.
