The predicament of being a human being – Marlene ffrench Mullen

This session will attempt to circumscribe the predicaments we experience within our spiritual practice in order to live an ethical life. To live an ethical life cannot be thought outside of our social bond – and this social bond is rapidly changing. In this presentation, we attempt to identify and locate the subjective stumbling blocks that inevitably challenge our ethical position in the world.

Marlene ffrench Mullen got her teacher training diploma from the Irish Yoga Association (IYA) in 1990. Tutor on the IYA Teacher Training Course in 1992 and tutored on five of the Associations teacher training courses. Represented the IYA three times at the European Yoga Congress in Zinal. Junior Iyengar Certificate. Studied with Jenny Beeken, Donna Holleman and Patabi Jois. I facilitate my own yoga study programmes at Slí na Bandé. This programme has run continuously since 2000. BA in philosophy and Freudian and Lacanian psychoanalysis from Dublin Business School (2003, grade 2.1) and an M.Sc. in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy, with a Clinical Specialization, from the University College of Dublin and St Vincent’s University Hospital (2006, first class honours). Registered practitioner with APPI (Association for Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy in Ireland) and a member of ICLO (Irish Circle of the Lacanian Orientation) since its foundation in 2009.
